We are happy to be able to currently accept Anthem BCBS (includes Empire BCBS), Aetna, Cigna and Multiplan.  We are not accepting new state patients at this time.

For the insurance carriers we are currently unable to participate with, we have many patients who choose to see us as "out of network" doctors. Typically, once you meet a predefined deductible, our reasonable and customary charges will be covered at 70-80%, depending on your specific plan. We are happy to provide you with a bill that you can submit immediately after the visit. You should check with your insurance carrier for details specific to your plan. You may also use your insurance to pay for any radiologic services, medications, lab tests, physical therapy, and specialist services we may refer you to if you are eligible for those benefits through your plan. We participate in Connecticut’s Vaccines for Children Plan which provides the majority of your child’s vaccines for free.

Please contact your insurance company with questions regarding coverage of services or our office with further questions regarding our insurance participation.

Why doesn’t Village take my insurance?

If you don’t find your insurance plan listed here you might be wondering why. The doctors have been very careful to select insurance plans with reimbursements that are compatible with our style of practice. Other plans choose to have remotely based “health care specialists” decide on the proper course of care for our patients. We refuse to compromise quality of care to increase the profitability of certain insurance companies.

We struggled together with this decision as we both had many favorite patients who were on plans that we no longer accept. However, in building our  practice we realized we could not provide physician-based, time intensive, personalized pediatrics and still stay in business taking all plans. For example, many offices actually charge for and profit from their night-time nurse triage services. Dr. Jenn and Dr. Nikki answer their own phones at night, which is typically an uncompensated benefit.

We are now pleased to offer a 20% discount to our cash patients for payments received at time of service.

Call for more information about the process.

If you are choosing an insurance plan or switching please consider the plans we do take:  Anthem, Aetna, and Cigna. Once Healthnet has been fully incorporated into United we will be unable to provide care under this plan.  We truly appreciate any effort you make to switch to one of our  preferred plans.
