Jennifer "Jenn" Gruen
An East Coast “lifer,” I was born in Brooklyn and raised on Long Island. From the age of eight, I knew my life’s goal was to be a pediatrician. In 1988, I matriculated at Brown University in Providence, RI, graduating Magna cum Laude with a degree in Neurobiology. Then I attended Cornell University Medical College in Manhattan, where I met my husband, David, a radiologist.
Next was a pediatrics residency at Babies Hospital of Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center, also in NYC, where I was chosen to complete a fourth Chief Residency year managing 54 pediatric residents and a large inpatient service.
Then I spent ten years in large, busy Stamford and Wilton pediatric practices and three children followed. My family ultimately settled in Weston, where I found Children’s Health Services, my ideal small town practice, and Nikki Gorman, my ideal pediatric partner. Together, we are achieving my dream of Village Pediatrics, a home-grown, small town practice where I can provide a true medical home to my patients and develop close relationships with their families.
I love having a “small-town” practice that allows me to develop close relationships with my patients. When I’m not caring for my patients, I love doing crafts, baking, lego, antiquing and throwing great kids birthday parties. I am also known as the “1 out of 5” pediatrician who recommends chocolate to her patients who love it!! (In moderation of course…)
Dr Jenn is also the medical writer for the publication STRONG, a magazine for girls. STRONG aims to empower girls to be the best version of themselves by presenting them with strong female role models, and encouraging their interests and passions, wherever they may lie.
